Hello Peeps!

Just some updates on what's going on. I'm back from college for a month. (YES!!) and with Christmas just around the corner I'm busy with helping my grandma around the house and making gifts. I'm also busy with other art projects that I have been holding off because of college. So I'm busy but in a good way since it's art. Well that's all I have to say for now. About the Contest


A couple of months back you folks helped tremendously in raising up to $10,000 for snow leopard conservation through the Snow Leopard Trust’s eNews campaign; it showed just what the average person can do in helping to raise money for a good cause. However, we now have an opportunity to raise 100 times that amount for big cats with a contest that is just as easy!


Chase Community Giving is currently holding a contest on Facebook which is giving small charities an opportunity to win big through online voting. Prizes range from $25,0000 up to $1 million and it is up to us to make sure that big cats and conservation get their share too! However, we need to act fast... the first phase of the contest ends on December 11th!


Who Does this Contest Benefit?




There are many charities out there, but there are a couple out there that do some great work for big cats and for conservation that I hope you will help. They could really use it!


The primary focus for this contest is an animal sanctuary called “Big Cat Rescue”. This fantastic organization helps rescue abused, neglected or unwanted exotic animals like tigers, lions, cougars and many other cats, big and small, and gives them a happy home. They also work to promote conservation of big cats in the wild and are a member of the International Tiger Coalition. Big Cat Rescue was actively involved in collecting signatures calling for an end for tiger trade in China and half of all proceeds from this contest will go to the ITC. What a great way to help both captive and wild cats!

Another organization you can help in this contest is the International Snow Leopard Trust, which is another fantastic organization that I’ve supported in past endeavours. For more information on the trust, please visit SnowLeopard.org.


How do I help?




It’s super easy and super fast!



1. First, visit VoteTigers.org, which will lead you to Facebook. Log-in to your Facebook if you have one and if you don’t, follow the quick sign-up procedure.

2. At VoteTigers.org, become a member of the cause “Help Win $1 Million for Big Cats!”.

3. Go to the “About” section to find out the procedure for voting, which is extremely simple. All you have to do is follow the link to Chase Community Giving and find “Big Cat Rescue, Corp” (there is a direct link, but search instructions are included as well).

4. After that, allow the Chase Community Giving application,become a fan and register your vote! You'll get confirmation after you have done it.



The whole process can take less than 5 minutes, which is a small price to pay for helping give up to $1 million to big cats.


After that, please consider voting for the International Snow Leopard Trust as well!


Feel free to search for your favourite charities as well as members are given multiple votes (1 per organization).


How Do I Enter the Contest and What Can I Win?




To enter the contest and be eligible for prizes, all you have to do is become a member of “Help Win $1 Million for Big Cats!” at VoteTigers.org. Recruit your friends to the cause and encourage them to vote because the people with the most recruits will win some great prizes including:



* 1st: $100 shopping spree at BigCatRescue.biz

* 2nd: $50 shopping spree at BigCatRescue.biz

* 3rd: $25 shopping spree at BigCatRescue.biz



There are other prizes as well, including:



* *a $50 snow leopard shopping spree at SnowLeopard.org

* **5 - 8x11 prints from the gallery at HeWhoWalksWithTigers . DeviantArt.com




*The person with the most recruits relative to their total number of Facebook friends (minimum of 100) will receive a $50 shopping spree at SnowLeopard.org! This is to reward those who are most effective at getting their friends involved.


**5 - 8x11 prints from HeWhoWalksWithTigers . DeviantArt.com will be given by draw to 5 random members of the cause at VoteTigers.org.


Who knows, there may be some other prizes for those who put in that extra bit of effort for the cats!


How Long Does the Contest Last?




The first phase of voting ends on December 11th and if Big Cat Rescue and/or the Snow Leopard Trust makes it into the top 100 charities, a second round of voting will take place to determine the $1 million winner. We need your help to make it into the second round!

Hey Everyone!

I'm back from my first week of college, it was alright. Not anything too exciting. The thing I don't like about it is that the internet connection sucks. So it's very hard for me to check my messages here on dA. So that' why my responses have been a bit delayed. I still don't have any artwork to put up, sorry. Maybe next time I will. Well I hope everyone is doing well and I hope I can get some artwork done in the mean time.

Regardless of how you feel about sharks personally, there's no denying that they are a vital part of our ecosystem and without them our oceans would crumble. Sharks DO have a purpose, and they have a right to live. Remember that they were here first, and the oceans belong to them, not us. Let's learn to coexist in harmony with these beautiful animals.

1. Hm?... Well to start off I love animals. I going into environmental science in college and my goal is to be able to work with wildlife. As some of you already know I am the Art Director for SAVETHEFROGS! and created many posters and other things for them already. I also started the annual frog art contest to raise frog awareness...not to brag or anything. I'm also trying to see if I can use my artistic abilities for the Snow Leopard Trust Fund.

2. I have many nicknames...Binki, booger, lee-er, lee, ashiba, The Great Amazonian Princess Leah (I forgot about this one. I like this one too), and my personal favorite, sasquatch! My friends usually call me sasquatch since I'm pretty tall for a girl, (5'8") and I'm pretty beastly for one as well. And the fact that a lot of people are intimidated by me probably as something to do with it. So let's just say I'm the female version of Jared Padelecki. Except not as good looking.

3. Even though most of my gallery is anime I do like other forms of art. I like realism, pointillism (even though it's a pain in the butt), impressionism, and some abstract. I yet to really try any of these forms though. I did pointillism a couple times...all I have to say you don't want to be near me when I'm working on it though...

4. I love men with long hair. As you can see for my love of Kenshin. I think long hair symbolizes for a lot of things and I think that's why I love it so much. And I don't understand why some people think men with long hair are girly? Men way back when had long hair and nobody had a problem with it. I don't know...It's just one of my pet peeves I guess.

5. I'm really shy...I've been working on trying to talk to people more and I have gotten a little better. It's hard for me to get close to people, but when I do I'm very loyal to them. ^^ I just have to earn there trust first. So I hope I find a shy guy, so he can understand me.

6. I was born with blood poisoning, spiral Fractured my leg when i was 2, had and asthma attack when I was 5, and had a bad case of chicken pox. I wasn't the healthiest thing when I was younger but I'm really healthy now. ^^

7. I'm a bit of a tomboy and like to rough house with my brother when I see him, I've climbed about 60feet up a tree a couple times, make weird noises like boys do, and I laugh at fart jokes... And I hate wearing dresses. >< Even though I do feel somewhat pretty in them....

8. Last but not least is that I talk to myself, I've had my family more than once ask, "who are you talking too?" and I said, "myself" Hey! Maybe I'm having a conversation with God!! You never know...he's always listening....I feel bad for him.
