I'll advertise it with the next journal update on Manic-goose. Sure. You don't have to advertise my contest, but it is always appreciated.

There is one suggestion, extend the contest to include some Christmas Break time if you want more entries, because that is when people have free time to draw. That always scores me a few extra entries. Also, try thinking of artist you like and would like to enter and leave a note as an invitation. Don't over do it, that would be spamming, but if you say, i really like your art and would be honored if you specifically entered, it isn't, so long as you don't do that to everybody you see. Send a not to the color-me-club requesting that they feature your contest in their journal. They are pretty nice about doing that. Asking people like me to help advertise is also a good thing, because the more messages that get out, the better, though I don't know how much good it will do when I am currently holding my own contest. It is better to find people whose journals are often read but who aren't holding their own contest.

The reason you don't get very much I think is in part because of the prize. Sorry, but when I offered only a colored picture by me, I got virtually no turn out as well, people would rather try to score something like that through art trades and the like I think. Spicing it up by offering features can help, but only a little. If you have a little extra money, throwing in a short lived subscription to dA or a print of a certain amount of money will really boost the entries, even though it may only be a ten dollar value in the first place. I don't know if you have money, but if you did, that would really boost the odds. You can also ask people if they are willing to donate prizes... sometimes having more than one prize makes even a simple line art something worth going for. Finally, you could also offer a set of colors or a manga or something else that would be sent int he mail to the winner. That gets a pretty good turn out as well and it is relatively affordable. That is assuming you have the money though.

You can also do a popular vote to give a picture extra points, this makes it interactive, and draws more attention.

Those are all the suggestions I have right now.

One more thing, I'll enter your contest... some time before it is over, and the entry is more likely to get more entries than the journal note. Besides, you enter my contests all the time, so I feel like returning the favor, and the theme sounds cute.

Gees, that was like five freakin' paragraphs. Anyway...I understand what your saying. I did put I comment at the end of my contest journal saying that I need prize donations. I don't have money, and I don't want to ask my gramma money for something like this. I'll ask around and see if there is anyone nice enough to give me prizes. Maybe I should join up with someone who is good with prizes and just help them figure out themes and judge. That's what I'm good at. Coming up with original themes.

I like entering your contest though. I don't care much about winning anything, but you're my closest friend on DA that I don't know in real-life. (I hope that makes sense) So I like participating in the contest that you give out, and reading your novel snippets. (Which I think will be a great novel if you ever published it. I would definitely buy it.) Also your a nice person, so in around about way of saying it you don't need return any favors to me. I don't like it when people think they have to owe me something.

I'm sorry if that was too much, but I felt I would share what I learned about holding contests. I hope you find good donations. If I wasn't already putting so much into my own, I would offer.

As for the story, I've got the majority of the kinks worked out of the plot and it is ready for a more comprehensive writing.. I think I would like to share it with you as ti comes out for your feed back since you are the best supporter of my writing on dA. I also need to find a good site to post literature when i have enough, because dA is nice and all for sharing art, but people don't generally read here. I'm also trying to build a fan base so when i get around to posting lots of writing, I will have some readers here on dA. IT would be great if I knew how to make my own website.

Get dreamweaver. That's a good website making program. I'm taking a class for it in school and it's pretty easy( I have a 100 in that class. *brags* ). I think you have to buy it however. I would love to make a website for you, but I could only probably get a trial and then it would be hard to update things. But if you decide to get it I could help you. ^^
